Nottinghamshire Showjumper Louise Saywell Secures Place in Horse & Hound Foxhunter Championship Final
Louise Saywell and Paul Barker booked places at the Horse of the Year Show by securing prized qualifying slots in the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at SouthView Equestrian Centre in Winsford, Cheshire.

Ultimately, it was Louise Saywell who proved to be a comfortable winner, continuing her impressive recent form that included a two-star victory at the Ashford Farm CSI**** Bolesworth International.
Louise, riding the Billy Twomey-owned 7 year-old bay gelding Dassler, was among twenty seven riders to reach the final phase – thirty nine reached round two – with eight combinations recording triple clears, but her time of 40.65 seconds proved too much for her rivals as she secured a berth at Birmingham’s Genting Arena in October.
Louise, from Retford in Nottinghamshire, triumphed by more than a second from North Yorkshire-based Paul Barker with the 8 year-old chestnut gelding Happy Boy, owned by Springs Equestrian Partnership, who pipped third-placed William Whitaker and Dublin V by just one hundredth of a second after crossing the finish line in 41.77 seconds.
With the two direct qualifying tickets for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final already allocated, the combinations in third to eighth took home the chance to compete in the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
