With a major focus on Young Eventers’ Programme being the mental well-being of our riders, this video focusses on money mental health as the current situation is, for some, causing high levels of aniety across the equestrian world. So, at the Windrush Foundation they would like to share some tips that Poppy Blandford, Equestrian Sports Performance Coach has very kindly put forward.
What is the Windrush Foundation?
The Windrush Equestrian Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in memory of Christina Knudsen and her passion for the eventing discipline.
It launches its first pilot project, the Young Eventers Programme, developed to seek out up and coming riders. The aim is to offer three talented young riders a pathway to becoming professional eventers and supporting themselves in business within the industry.
Each selected rider will be mentored and trained by Pippa Funnell, British Olympic rider, winner of The Rolex Grand Slam, three-time winner of Badminton and twice former Individual European champion. In collaboration with the Young Riders Academy in Switzerland, the programme will also include professional education in business and economics, communication, mental coaching and veterinary.
Are you following the 2020 riders in the Windrush Academy and rider Connie Copestake who writes a monthly blog for Equestrian Life Magazine? Constance (Connie) is a 23 year old British based French event rider. She has a string of horses ranging from very green three year olds to seasoned 4* eventers. Connie says “I am very lucky to be based on the family yard in Lincolnshire and will be writing to you from here on a regular basis to share all of our Windrush news over the coming year.”
