Blue Chip are thrilled that their racehorse ‘Come on Blue Chip’ is to run in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot on Thursday 21st June. Bought by Blue Chip’s owner and founder Clare Blaskey as a foal from Goffs sale in Ireland, ‘Come on Blue Chip’, was prepared at home for the St Ledger Yearling Sales in Doncaster, but failed to get any bids and so was put into training.
Bred by Esker Lodge Stud in Ireland, this horse will be the first from the stud to run at Royal Ascot.
Come on Blue Chip was born 5 weeks late, and as a result his mother had no milk to feed him so he was fostered by a hairy pony mare. Clare Blaskey says “Having a sensible foster mum is probably why, especially for a Holy Roman Emperor, he has such an amazing temperament. He comes home for holidays and settles straight back in to the routine with our show and dressage horses.”
Trained by Paul D’Arcy, Come on Blue Chip has won three races in his short career and will be on top form for the big occasion.
Clare’s family and members of Blue Chip staff will all be at Ascot to cheer Come on Blue Chip on in this prestigious race. Why not have a flutter yourself and back this promising 3 year old?
