Bedmax 436x291 - Young Rider Scholarship programme launched for second year running

bedmaxAre you a young rider looking for the opportunity of a lifetime?  Today, the UK’s leading equine bedding manufacturer, BEDMAX, have announced that for the second year running, they are offering one talented young rider an unmissable opportunity to win the BEDMAX Young Rider Scholarship for 2017.

The Scholarship is open to all riders aged between 16 and 23, living and training in England, Scotland or Wales, in any of the three principle equestrian sports: Dressage, Show jumping or Eventing.

“The Scholarship programme was launched in November 2015 with the aim of providing support and education to the next generation of up and coming equine stars.  The response to the scholarship was outstanding and it was certainly a difficult task reviewing applications,” says Tim Smalley, Managing Director of BEDMAX.

“Following an extremely successful first year, we are thrilled to once again be offering the Scholarship programme for 2017.  British Equestrianism has a very bright future and it is a privilege to be able to offer help and support to one ambitious young rider.”

Throughout the year, the 2017 Young Rider will represent BEDMAX in public, contribute to their communication and educational programme on social media as well as attending a maximum of three educational or promotional events, including one as a demonstrator!

As an ambassador for BEDMAX, the winner will be helping to raise a greater awareness amongst younger riders of the crucial part that good bedding can play in keeping horses healthy in the stable, and fit to perform at their very best.

In return, BEDMAX will support the chosen Young Rider by providing a year’s supply of BEDMAX Shavings for one horse (150 bags), BEDMAX branded clothing and horse rug and offer expert support in education, training and PR.

Eighteen year old event rider, Elspeth Jamieson from Ayrshire, and her leading horse Dasset Cooley Designed (Jamie) have represented BEDMAX as their Young Rider.  Commenting on her experience, Elspeth said:  This has been an amazing experience for me.  I have gained so much from the year and cannot thank BEDMAX enough.

“I first saw the scholarship on an email, it sounded so interesting and I thought I might as well just go for it.  I was delighted to be invited for final interview, and when I received the call to say I had won the Scholarship I was completely shocked!

“For young people, this is not an opportunity that you would usually get.  BEDMAX have been a real support system and have given me so many fantastic opportunities.  I would definitely recommend applying for the 2017 Young Rider Scholarship, what you want to get out of it, they actually help you achieve.”

To be in with the chance of winning the 2017 BEDMAX Young Rider Scholarship, applications must be made online by Wednesday 30th November 2016.  For more details or to apply please visit the BEDMAX website www.bedmaxshavings.com/scholarship/
