SOME of the world’s top event riders are jumping to the challenge in a bid to raise money for Sport Relief this March at the popular early season event, Oasby Horse Trials, near Grantham (March 10th-13th)
For every rider who pays their start fee over the FOUR days, Oasby Organisers, Bede Events, are donating £1 to the cause, with almost 1000 entries this promises to be a substantial sum.
“With so many riders scheduled to compete over the four days we are set to pledge about £1,000 even before we start shaking buckets” said Event Director, Stuart Buntine. “Many of our contractors have promised to donate a proportion of their fee straight to Sport Relief and we’ll have our ‘riders in red’ and ‘feel good fiver’ initiatives in a bid to add to the total.”
The rosettes, the riders and the programme will all be Sport Relief branded to encourage everyone to join in the fun and help Bede Events hit their target.
Oasby Horse Trials is one of the first events of the season and attracts more than 900 competitors during the four-days. These range from amateur grassroot competitors to some of the world’s top eventers and Olympic riders such as Nicola Wilson, Andrew Hoy and Paul Tapner.
