The Pony Club’s Annual Conference

The Pony Club’s Annual Conference is being held across the water on March 7th, at Belfast’s Waterfront, and boasts a full and varied line up of speakers.
Eric Smiley FBHS, a member of the Pony Club Training Committee, kicks off the programme with Eventing initiatives, followed by William Blane FBHS, Chairman of Pony Club Training, speaking on training principles for 2012.
East Down Branch Members, Luke Kilmacki and Luke McMullan, will be giving delegates an insight into life as a Pony Club Tetrathlete, and with London 2012 uppermost in people’s minds Andrew Finding, CEO of the British Equestrian Federation, will be speaking on The Pony Clubs contribution to equestrian sport.
With a background in print and broadcast journalism, as well producing performance horses for the Sport Horse industry through Ringfort Stud, Diane Harron Eakin will be enlightening delegates about her successes, from International show jumpers to Kerry bog ponies!Pony Club Logo
Following lunch, the presentation of Secretary of the Year will be made, before the audience is treated to an inspirational talk from guest speaker Dr Janet Gray MBE. Janet’s talk, titled “Blind Ambition”, will give the audience a feel for the highs, and low’s, throughout Janet’s life and successful waterskiing career.
“We hope our delegates will leave the 2012 conference feeling as inspired about this special year as we do” comments Cherry Michell, Chairman of The Pony Club. “The Pony Club is really looking forward to being in Belfast for this annual gathering, which gives us the opportunity to both listen to, and celebrate our volunteers’ achievements”.
The day will be expertly compered by Mike Tucker and those attending will also have chance to meet The Pony Club’s valued sponsors, browse sponsors trade stands and The Pony Club’s wide range of merchandise.
