The 148cm Show Pony went through to the electric evening performance after winning earlier in the day and for Savannah the championship win brought an emotional end to a long journey.
West Yorkshire-based Savannah is a Building Society Customer Advisor and keeps Michy as she is known at home in DIY livery.
When getting to shows Savannah relies on friends for lifts and she is very grateful to driver Caroline Midgeley for all her help and assistance.
Savannah has owned Michy since she was three and she has done all the training herself with the help of Heather Airey who has taught her since she was 10-years-old.
The 2015 season has been a huge success for the pair who qualified for the Horse of the Year Show in the Part Bred class at Staffordshire Country Fair.
As Savannah is too old to compete in HOYS qualifying 148cm Show Pony classes, rider Georgina Foster has been piloting the attractive bay mare in those sections and they too have qualified to compete at the Birmingham venue when finishing second at the Great Yorkshire Show.
Said Savannah: “Winning this championship is a dream come true, it is just amazing and makes all the hard work so worthwhile.
“I have produced her slowly and now just love showing Michy, she is a star and tonight couldn’t have gone better.”
