Organised and hosted by the Sheepgate Team, this show has gone from strength to strength over the years and is now a major fixture in the equestrian calendar of any young dressage rACEADBC3ider. The six days of competitions saw over eight hundred tests taking place and new national champions awarded their titles. All riders were welcomed with a gift of a feed bucket from Dengie Horse Feeds and a goodie bag from Schockemohle Sports and Groomers.Sheepgate’s organiser Sarah Payne, a former international pony team member and young rider is constantly looking for new ideas and initiatives with the development of the horse and young rider in mind. 2011 saw many new ideas included within the show for the first time, welcoming ‘fledgling’ riders and offering them their own ‘intro’ test as well as a freestyle pony class aimed at 4, 5 and 6 year old ponies. The evening entertainment of ‘dog agility’ with the Sarber Team, Zumba lead by Donna Avison of D4 Dance and the annual Gersemi Fashion show were well received by all.
The ever popular team competition was well supported with teams from all over the country competing. The eventual winners were the North West Red Team, of Lucy Pincus, Amy Bount, Emily Bount and Lindsey Rollings.
