Royal Windsor Horse Show entries are now open and will close on 29th March. Entries can be made online by visiting the competitors page on www.rwhs.co.uk, where the schedule can also be downloaded.
This year sees Royal Windsor celebrate its 70th Year, it was started in 1943 to raise money for the war-effort and has gone from strength to strength since. With 151 showing classes and 22 jumping classes plus The Land Rover International Carriage Driving Grand Prix, the Show has a packed competition programme which takes place across its four arenas.
New to the schedule this year is The University Challenge – an opportunity for university jumping teams of three to compete in the beautiful environment that Royal Windsor offers.
Mixed with the competition schedule are some regular old favourites to entertain the 45,000 strong attendance. The Shetland Pony Grand National, The DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, The Coaching Marathon, The Meet of Hounds and The Household Cavalry Best Turned Out Trooper are all immensely popular at Royal Windsor. This year they will be joined by two displays that return to Royal Windsor after an absence of a few years, they are The Musical Drive of The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery and The Musical Ride of The Household Cavalry.
The mix of equestrian, and military competition and displays is the reason why this quintessentially English Show has a unique identity that continues to attract large numbers of competitors and visitors.
