Watch as horses let themselves out of stables and walk to gallops. After six months away from the track, it is no surprise that many of racing’s superstar horses are itching to get out of their stables and back in to competitive race action.
However, one trio appears to be a little more enthusiastic than the others – even going so far as to open their own stable doors before staging a mock race on the training gallops in the dead of night away from the eyes of their trainers and jockeys.
Captured as part a promotional video to celebrate the start of the QIPCO British Champions Series, the three thoroughbreds are seen escaping as the clock ticks towards 12:10am before walking to the gallops, standing still in a line and then setting off for their own contest in a bid to be crowned the first champion of the Series.
The Series, which begins this Saturday at the QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket, features 35 of the best Flat turf races in the World across 26 racedays and ten courses, culminating with Britain’s richest raceday – QIPCO British Champions Day – at Ascot on October 15th.
Horses then stage mock race ahead of QIPCO British Champions Series opener.
Series starts this Saturday with QIPCO 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
