MDTG - Old favourites and a new venue for 2012

MDTGMidlands Driving Trials Group (MDTG) has another full season of competitions ahead starting with Catton Park in April (21/22). Catton is a National – and International – venue that is a popular favourite. The season’s opener will be an ideal warm-up for the summer with a shorter than normal marathon, about 12k, and six obstacles.

Some regular venues have changed dates with Tutbury now on 12 & 13 May, Offchurchbury – which includes NNQ classes – in early June and Widmerpool moving to August. In between those two competitions, Lincomb, which was a new venue last year, takes place towards the end of June.

MDTG is delighted that the owners of Rugby Polo Club have given permission for the club to hold an event there in August (18/19). The venue has much to recommend it with around 65 acres of flat ground, a permanent water supply and clubhouse plus easy access.

The season finishes with the Club Championships and End of Season Party back at Catton Park in September. All events will feature an optional hot meal on the Saturday night – plus Dorothy’s wonderful home-made puddings at selected venues.

Apart from Rugby, all venues will run a one-day event for Newcomers, Small Ponies and others who cannot take time out to compete over two days.
