Natasha Baker Biography
I am 22 years old and currently working full time with my horses in Uxbridge, West London. I am a Grade II, National and International Para Dressage rider, current European Champion and am fortunate to be part of the World Class Performance Programme.
My riding career started at my local Riding for the Disabled Association, where I competed using their horses. At the age of 12 I was selected onto the World Class Start Squad for Paralympic Dressage. Shortly after this I found my own horse and moved him home so that I could progress further. I now ride at National and International level having represented Great Britain in Belgium, Germany, Norway and France as well as International Competitions here in Great Britain. Listed below are some of my National and International achievements:
British Equestrian Federation’s Medal of Honour Award Winner 2011
Winner of French & Hartpury International 2011
National Champion 2007/10/11
Selected as Reserve for World Equestrian Games 2010
Winter National Championships 2010 – Grade II 2nd Individual and 1st Freestyle

Hartpury International 2005 – 1st Individual, 2nd Freestyle
Junior International at Millfield School – 1st Overall Under 18yrs Champion.
Each year I have been reselected onto the World Class Squad and have progressed onto the Performance Level. I was fortunate in being one of sixteen athletes selected from all sports over the UK to have had the support of Team Visa which included mentoring from Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson and Sir Steve Redgrave. I am currently sponsored by Belstane Marketing promoting Pikeur, Eskadron, Samshield & Rok and also Saracen Horse Feeds.
I currently have the ride of three horses. My main competition horse, Cabral, is a 11yrs, 16.2hh Polish bred bay gelding, purchased from Christian Landolt in September 2009. He was previously evented but didn’t prove bold enough for the cross country however had outstanding dressage qualities. I have great hopes for him in London 2012 and far beyond. Bam Bam is my young upcoming horse; he is 6yrs, 16.1hh KWPN. Having recently bought him in August 2011, I am bringing him on slowly and am aiming him at the Paralympics in 2016. He is a dream to ride and is proving to be extremely trainable, a very exciting prospect for the future. Wald Minor is 23yrs, 17hh Danish chestnut gelding, owned by Mrs J. Scharf. He was my World Championship ride and is now semi-retired.
In 2000 I watched the first televised Paralympic and Olympic Games; I announced to my parents that I was going to do that and this has been my dream ever since. In November 2006, I won my 1st International class in France, they played the National Anthem and raised the Union Flag, I cannot explain how amazing this was; I felt so proud of myself and my horse. Winning my first Gold Medal at the European Championships was incredible and now I am on track to fulfil my dream of winning Gold at the Paralympics Games
