Mary King gave the closing address at the 2012 Alltech Hartpury Conference on 4th April. The annual event gives students the opportunity to either display posters of their work, or present papers alongside the keynote speakers, allowing them to gain valuable experience in a conference environment.
This year’s conference included thought-provoking topics, including Andy Hemmings from RAC on crib-biting being related to genetics, David Marlin on genetics through breeding and predictability of outcomes, Pat Harris on obesity and Jane Murray who studied the risks and reasons for falls, in particular rotational falls at the XC phase. Mary wrapped up the day with a talk about her life and how hard work and perseverance pays off.
