British Eventing have today announced the long list of horse and rider combinations for the KBIS sponsored British Young Rider European team. The European Championships will be held at Malmö (SWE) from the 3 – 12th of August at CCI2* level. The event will see future stars of the British Eventing stage battle it out to defend their Team gold medal title.

Following the CIC2* at Barbury Castle this weekend and a specially arranged combined training section at the Festival of British Eventing (Gatcombe), the final Team of 6 and two reserves will be chosen after the final trial at Aston-le-Walls in late July. The Young Rider Selection committee reserves the right to add or amend this list at any time.

Chairman of the KBIS Young Rider selectors, Alex Colquhoun comments on the selection process:  “With the interrupted season that we have had we are delighted to welcome some old and some new faces on to the Long list for the team heading to Sweden. Final selection will take place at Aston Le Walls in July with departure to Malmö on the 4th August.”

British Eventing welcome also KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Brokers, long time supporters of British Eventing Youth as the team’s main sponsors this year.
