The box office for The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2014 (4th-7th September) will open its doors on 1st May 2014, with major discounts for those buying in advance.
80 of the World’s leading horse and rider combinations will take part in this year’s CCI 4* competition (one of only six in the world), some riders ‘hot footing it’ direct from the World Equestrian Games.
The event, which attracted 160,000 visitors last year, starts with two days of dressage in the main arena (Thursday and Friday). Saturday is cross country day, when competitors test their nerve around Burghley’s famously challenging course, designed by Captain Mark Phillips. The competition then comes to a climax with show jumping on Sunday to determine who will carry home the Land Rover Perpetual Challenge Trophy and the substantial £62,000 first prize.
Situated in the magnificent parkland of Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire, Land Rover Burghley is renowned not only as a major international sporting event, but also as a premium occasion in the Autumn social calendar. With the unique and renowned retail village offering more than 600 tradestands purveying everything from exclusive fashion, jewellery and gourmet food products, to quality tack, stabling and ‘simply must have’ items for home and garden, visitors have an unrivalled opportunity to ‘shop till they drop’.
