IV Horse Manufacturing Base Escapes Unprecedented West Yorkshire Flooding

Cheryl Rope Binding with EmbroideryIV Horse’s North of England manufacturing base avoided potential widespread damage during recent exceptional rainfall and flooding, thanks to the hard work of their workshop and estate teams, which ensured manufacturing continued as normal and supply to customers was unaffected.

The base, at the heart of the textile industry in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire, found itself at the centre of unprecedented rainfall levels and rapid flooding recently when a month’s worth of rain fell overnight. So serious was the situation in Mytholmroyd and its surrounding areas that it led the national news bulletins.

IV Horse manufactures a large number of products at their Mytholmroyd base including rugs, saddle pads, numnahs, dog coats, headcollars and carriage driving equipment. Manufacturing in the UK offers IV Horse’s customers a number of benefits, including minimised lead times and personalisation and bespoke options on a large range of products that would be impossible with overseas production.

A IV Horse spokesperson said, “when we heard about the possibility of flooding in the local area, we worked hard to ensure all precautions had been taken to maintain normal service. Our team worked tirelessly to protect workstations, stock and materials so we could continue to supply customers and ensure we didn’t let them down.

Despite record downpours, it was business as usual for us on Monday morning with no break in production. Unfortunately some local businesses and homes have not been as fortunate as us, so we will be doing what we can to help them out.”

IV Horse produces items in their Mytholmroyd workshop under the UKOK! label, supporting UK manufacturing and high quality craftsmanship. Items are produced by their local team of craftsmen and women from locally sourced materials. This ensures products possess the high levels of usability and style customers require, whilst reducing IV Horse’s carbon footprint, creating jobs and supporting the local and wider UK economies.
