Kate Negus Saddlery has recently rebranded its Suregrip Reins as Webbing Rubber Grip Reins, to help prevent confusion between these reins and the X-Suregrip variety.
Both reins are made using top quality English leather, but the grip is very different. The Webbing Rubber Grips have, as the name suggests, web reins with rubberised strands woven into the reins for increased grip, whereas X-Suregrip Reins have soft rubber grips with a nylon core.
“We find that both these reins are really popular with our customers,” says Julia Andrews from Kate Negus, “it’s a case of personal preference. A lot of people recommend our products to their friends and it was becoming obvious that having two reins with similar names was causing unnecessary confusion. Both reins are loved by our riders; our Webbing Rubber Grips are favourites of Sacha Hourigan, whereas Sarah Cohen uses our X-Suregrips cross country, and Sam Rahmatalla uses them for dressage.”
For those who love the old Suregrip Reins, the only difference is the name, the quality, grip and feel remain the same.
Webbing Rubber Grip Reins are available in black and chestnut with buckle ends and are ¾” thick. They have a RRP of £67.50.
