AF39159 512 Michelle Lawrence Chester XII 750x426 - Full time vet steps up from BE80 BRC Championships to contest Grassroots series

_AF39159 - 512 - Michelle Lawrence - Chester XIILast year, Michelle Lawrence a full-time equine vet became one of two winners of the inaugural EquestrianClearance.com British Riding Clubs BE80(T) Championships at Brooksby Melton College; boosted by her win, this year she and her ride Chester XII head back to Brooksby, but this time to contest for a place at the 2013 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton BE90 Grassroots Championships.

Having been just a half penalty away from a qualifying mark in the BE90 Regional Final at Milton Keynes recently, Cotswold-based Michelle is heading to Brooksby again this weekend full of fight: “Considering I only started eventing by accident (for a bit of stress relief), I really have a taste for it now and would love nothing more than to experience Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Grassroots. ‘Chester’ is now at the ripe old age of eighteen, so I feel that time is getting a little limited and now is our chance to make it.

“Like anything, you want to have a goal, this year my goal was initially to step up from BE80 to competing at BE90, but once we got the hang of that, the goal posts moved and I thought Badminton Grassroots was the next stage. The BE80(T) series really helped me gain my confidence and I would highly recommend it!”

This weekend, the second ever EquestrianClearance.com British Riding Clubs BE80(T) Championship will take place again at Brooksby Melton College; again there will be great prizes on offer from EquestrianClearance.com. Michelle on her 2011 prize: “Last year’s prize vouchers from EquestrianClearance.com meant I could buy some much needed lunging kit for Chester which really helped with his balance and strength. Because of my busy life as a vet, my Mum keeps him ticking over with his fitness so this has really helped and is a great addition to his routine.”
