Dutch equestrian apparel brand Equirex is due to launch its range of high quality, earth conscious equestrian sportswear at this year’s Burghley Horse Trials. This will be the company’s first venture into the UK equestrian market.
The company’s range of breeches, jackets and casual riding tops combine comfort and style with earth conscious materials such as certified organic cotton, pure merino wool and Blue Sign fabrics.
“We are excited about launching our collection at Burghley,” says Marjolein van Hilten from Equirex, “we will be in the Green Lifestyle Pavilion as we felt this was particularly fitting for our brand.
“Whilst our apparel has been made to have less environmental impact, the design and fabrics used are flattering, comfortable, elegant and great to wear.”
Merino wool, a key element in the Equirex range, is regularly used in other active sports, such as mountain climbing, but is not yet popular in equestrian clothing. Equirex hopes that this is something set to change: “Merino wool is the ultimate equestrian sports fabric due to its natural ability to wick moisture, breathe and regulate body temperature,” says Marjolein. “Above all, it does not absorb the smell of the horse and stable and, to top it off, it’s very comfortable to wear.”
The Equirex Merino Jacket is made from 100% merino wool and is ideal for day to day wear. It’s available in spring blue, midnight blue and antra, in sizes XS-XL. It has a RRP of £117.50.
The stylish collection is available to view and buy at www.equirex.nl and will be available in the Burghley Green Lifestyle Pavilion for the duration of the event.
