Do you live in the East Riding? If you’ve got questions and thoughts about access and mapping, come along to the Altisidora in Bishop Burton at 7.30pm, Tuesday 11th December. Janet and Naomi from Ride Yorkshire will be there with Patrick Wharam, Access Manager for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and we’ll go over important points like where we can and can’t ride, and how we can improve access.
We’ll have some maps with us, so if you’re not confident of map-reading we can go over the basics. Better still, bring along an Ordnance Survey map covering the area where you normally ride – or would like to.
It’s an informal gathering and a chance to socialise, but a good turnout will help demonstrate to the Council there’s serious interest in increasing rider access to the countryside. Drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or text 07583 451825 if you’re coming to give us an idea of numbers (unless you’ve already let us know). If you decide at the last minute you can come, that’s fine too – just turn up.
And if you don’t live in the East Riding but would like a similar event near you, please just ask – we’ll do our best to arrange something!
The East Riding meeting is just a pilot – they’re planning more in different parts of Yorkshire between the New Year and Easter.
