Demo riders revealed for BD National Convention –
2 from the North!
Four talented British demonstration riders will join Imke Schellekens-Bartels in riding at the 2011 British Dressage Convention Supported by The National Saddle Centre, Hartpury College
26-27 November 2011. The 2 riders from the Northern Region are:
Sophie Wells – World and European Para-equestrian Gold Medallist and YR European rider 2011
Emma Corbett – Junior European Rider 2011

International 3* Judge.
Produced & competed horses to Grand Prix Level.
Clive is a rare combination of top level dressage judge and rider.
He has a sensitive and inspirational approach, guiding each rider to develop feel and understanding. Clive is happy to teach every level of horse and rider.

There will be the opportunity to meet a wide variety of riders who have represented the region over the past few years and gain an insight in to their own experiences and achievements.

BYRDS Regional Riders
The BD Young Riders Dressage Scheme has been active for the past 10 years and aims to develop rider skills from the age of 6 through to 25 through regional and national training.
This year the Northern region has seen a number of riders who have come through the scheme from an early age move forwards in their dressage career.
Following recent viewing days the following riders from the region have been placed on the BEF Excel Talent Programme:
Sarah Fitton (who will be writing an exclusive column for Equestrian Life Magazine)
Jess Knapton
Emma Corbett
Lesley Fitton mother of Sarah has been involved with regional BYRDS for a number of years and is very proud of the achievements of all 3 riders, “I am sure this is in no small part to the excellent foundation they received through the BYRDS regional training”.
Pony Riders attended a viewing day at Vale View EC during October and the following riders have been placed on National Training:
