Zoe Brennan - Latino KBishop Burton College will be running its Town and Country Day alongside the college’s British Eventing Horse Trials for the second time, when the college hosts its themed events and activities on 27 May this year.
College principal Jeanette Dawson is looking forward to the event: “We will have plenty of people on campus enjoying the Horse Trials, who will no doubt appreciate some extra entertainment, plus the Town and Country event will attract visitors who may not ordinarily attend an equine competition.
“There will be something for everyone and the chance for everyone to try something new should they wish to.”
The Horse Trials are now firmly established as a highlight of the regional equestrian calendar and regularly attract hundreds of spectators, along with some of the country’s best riders. The competitions are held twice yearly on the college’s stunning estate.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide variety of displays, demonstrations and activities, all with a distinctly rural flavour, including: Falconry, Mini Zoo; Dog Agility and Dog Show; Horseball; Chainsaw Sculpture; Children’s activities (including children’s story teller and face painting); Steel Band, Street Dancing, Zumbathon; Jewellery Making; Mini Olympics; Country Cookery; Woodland Crafts; Floristry Demonstrations; Fashion Show and much more!
Free parking will be available on the campus and the college has contracted East Yorkshire Motor Services to provide a shuttle service to and from Hull and Beverley, on the day.
Visitors will also be able to explore the college’s new-look campus and find out about courses on offer.
Tickets are available at the Gate. Single £5. Family tickets are also available £15 (2 adults + 2 children). For more details, please phone 01964 553 000 or go to http://www.bishopburton.ac.uk/news/events/college-events/roadshow-events
