Zoe Wilkinson 640x426 - BYEH - Badminton Horse Trials

Zoe WilkinsonSpring showers did nothing to dampen the recent good form of Oxfordshire based EZ Equestrian professional event rider Zoe Wilkinson. On the back of a weekend of wins at both Rockingham International and Solihull, she partnered the striking Finduss PFB to victory in the 4yr old section of the Dubarry sponsored BYEH.
Against the stunning backdrop of Badminton House, the Parkfield Breeding owned chestnut gelding by Saffier x Sarantos showed his potential as a future 4* prospect. Scoring highly in all sections  he sealed the win by one point on a score of 86 from experienced BYEH campaigner Nicky Roncoroni riding Grafenstolz sired mare Aurora Eqvites owned by Vanessa Vernon.
Zoe is no stranger to success in the BYEH competition, taking back to back wins at the Burghley final riding stable mate Parkfield Quintessential for the past 2 years. Commenting on her win and on Finduss PFB, known as Louis at home, it’s obvious that she has high hopes for his future; ‘it is great to win a qualifier at Badminton again. I have a lot of faith in Louis – his self belief is very strong and his jump matches his belief. It is just a case of harnessing his rather busy mind!’
When asked if he might follow in the footsteps of Parkfield Quintessential by becoming a BYEH champion, Zoe was a little more guarded, ‘it would be great if Louis gave me a hat trick of wins at the finals but it’s early in the season and we will have to see how he develops. I do think an awful lot of him and feel very lucky to ride such lovely horses’
Sharon Bishop of Parkfield Breeding purchased Finduss PFB  and 7th placed Francoe PFB as 2 year olds from Devon based Mark Bosanko. Sharon laughed as she told us of Mark’s confidence; ‘Thank goodness Louis won, Mark had promised to eat his hat if he didn’t and I’m not sure that would have been good for his health!’
This win further cements the capability of Parkfield Breeding and  EZ Equestrian as producers of quality young horses.
