Sheila 498x426 - Ackworth Couple are crowned BHS British Trec Champions!

SheilaDave and Sheila Rodgerson have been competing in the sport BHS Trec since 1999 and in that time have been to 12 British Championships and travelled over the three home countries. This year they travelled to a little village called Glangrwyney, Wales, the competition took place on 14-15th September against the magnificent backdrop of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Current or past ADRC members Lesley Benyon, Jackie Barnett and Sue Perks were also competing in the level 3 pairs class.

BHS TREC comprises three phases, testing the partnership’s ability to cope with an all-day ride across varied terrain, route finding, negotiating natural obstacles and hazards, while considering the welfare of the horse, respecting the countryside and enjoying all it has to offer. Husband and Wife pair Dave and Sheila Rogerson improved on last year’s third place by winning the Level 3 Pairs class on their horses Coffy and Rusty.

Ackworth and District Riding Club members Dave and Sheila are regulars on the BRC circuit and Sheila competed at the BRC National Championships the previous weekend.
