2019 Auction Yearling Bambalina 150x100 - A Night to Remember at the Bolesworth Elite Yearling AuctionA highlight in the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show schedule, the Elite Yearling Auction, once again delivered on all levels. Hosted on the Friday evening, the highly anticipated auction offered a selection of world class show jumping progeny from leading breeders across the UK & Europe. This year’s vendors included renowned breeders Millfield Stud, Davenport Stud, Stal Hendrix and The Crown Stud. With breeding highlights from top class stallions, and a strong emphasis once again made on ‘Black Type’ dam lines, the class of 2019 combined outstanding blood lines, scope and athleticism.

Set in the prestigious International arena offering a clear view for the 500+ hospitality guests, the highly sought-after yearlings included off-spring from Kannan, Cornet Obolensky and the legendary Big Star. This was coupled with outstanding dam-lines, with highlights including Nicole whose progeny included 1.60m performers Newton Abbot, Glen Devon and Newton Nickel.

Now in its fifth year many of the Elite Auction graduates can be seen successfully competing throughout Europe, including One Attraction, a four-year-old registered AES stallion by Luidam, who successfully returned to compete this year at the Equerry Bolesworth International Horse Show under Sarah Billington.

Nina Barbour said: “The weather certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the Elite Yearling Auction. The calibre of youngstock drew a huge amount of attention from serious buyers across the UK and Europe, with many high-profile riders declaring interest in the lots. We are delighted with the success of the evening; the highly desirable yearlings were very well received which was reflected in the enthusiastic bidding and purchasing prices”.

This year the Elite Auction returned to the original format, showcasing a selection of yearlings. This offers serious buyers a very good idea of the horse’s raw talent over a pole, a valuable insight to their future. Detailed vettings and several pre-auction previews were offered in the days leading up to the auction, which allowed buyers an opportunity to carefully select the lots which were of interest.

Highlights of the evening included the sale of a stunning bay colt, B Sauteur by Diarado, whose eye-catching presence created a lot of interest from many buyers including the winning bid from Morgan Kent of HK Horses.  Also, Carrasco Z- a striking chestnut colt with a strong resemblance to his sire Comilfo Plus Z, which when paired with an impressive dam-line secured his sale to George Whitaker.

The Bolesworth Elite Auction Team are very pleased to report that the yearlings are now settled in their new homes and would like to wish all new owners the very best of luck with their exciting prospects.
